Nourishing Connection: A Wellness Insights Team Cooking Experience at Green Palette Kitchen

At Wellness Insights Integrative Medicine, we believe that true wellness is cultivated through connection, creativity, and shared experiences.

Last week, our team gathered at Green Palette Kitchen in Southport, Connecticut, for a private healthy cooking class led by chef and culinary nutritionist Heather Carey, MS. The evening was designed as a hands-on team-bonding experience centered on the joy of preparing and enjoying nutritious food together.

The menu celebrated seasonal ingredients and vibrant flavors, highlighting the beauty of whole-food cooking:

  • White Bean and Fresh Tomato Dip with basil oil drizzle

  • Spiced Moroccan Carrot Soup

  • Harvest and Quinoa Salad with lemon-Dijon dressing

  • Pistachio and Herb-Crusted Chicken Breasts

  • Orange Almond Cake with orange-yogurt topping

Each course reflected the philosophy we share with our patients: that food is medicine, and cooking is one of the most powerful ways to invest in your health.

Working side-by-side in the kitchen, we chopped, stirred, and tasted our way through recipes rich in fiber, protein, and healthy fats designed to fuel energy, balance blood sugar, and delight the senses.

Beyond the meal, the experience reminded us of the importance of slowing down and connecting outside our daily routines. Laughter, teamwork, and meaningful conversation filled the kitchen as we shared stories and ideas—proving that the same collaboration that drives our integrative approach to patient care also strengthens our internal community.

Green Palette Kitchen’s corporate wellness cooking classes offer an inspiring way for teams to prioritize well-being while learning practical skills to support a healthier lifestyle. For us, it was more than a class—it was a reflection of our mission to help individuals and organizations alike experience vitality through everyday choices.

At Wellness Insights, we’ll carry this inspiration into our work, continuing to promote the message that health starts with what we put on our plates and the company we keep around the table.
