Golden Daydream Turmeric Latte: A Cozy Anti-Inflammatory Afternoon Drink
This is the beverage I turn to on a weekend afternoon when I want something deeply satisfying that soothes my body and soul without revving me up or calming me down. Turmeric lattes have become wildly popular, but this version takes things a step further with an Intensive Thai Spice Mix, combining several powerful anti-inflammatory spices with endless culinary uses.
Cinnamon helps support balanced blood sugar, while the rich fat from coconut milk provides grounding nourishment that keeps you full until dinnertime. A single Medjool date adds natural sweetness along with fiber for sustained energy, making this latte both comforting and functional.
Ingredients
8 ounces hot water
½ teaspoon Intensive Thai Spice Mix
1 small Medjool date, pitted
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 shakes ground cinnamon (optional)
Directions
Warm the coconut milk in the microwave for 30–60 seconds on high, or heat in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Add the warmed coconut milk, hot water, spice mix, date, vanilla extract, and cinnamon to a blender.
Blend for about 20 seconds until smooth and frothy.
Pour into a 12-ounce cup and enjoy.
Life Kitchen Tip
Look for canned coconut milk that does not contain guar gum, a stabilizing agent that can sometimes cause digestive discomfort. I keep coconut milk at room temperature so a quick shake before opening mixes the contents well. Any leftover coconut milk can be stored in a lidded glass container in the refrigerator and used in coffee, smoothies, or whole grain recipes.
